Summer Escape, a Pop-Up Exhibit, Opens June 18 in Westport, CT
The new Elisa Contemporary Art exhibit, Summer Escape, will open June 18 as a Pop-Up exhibit in the George Billis Gallery at 166 Main Street, Westport CT. The exhibit will run through July 25.
There will be an Opening Reception on Friday, June 18 from 4pm – 7pm and a Closing Reception on Wednesday, July 21 from 5-7pm.
Summer Escape is focused on outdoor scenes and travel. The artwork includes Oceans and Beaches, Pool scenes, Waterscapes, and paintings inspired by travel around the US and Europe.
The exhibit features the artwork of Rowayton Artist, Betty Ball; California Artist, Ferdinanda Florence, Marfa Artist Martha Hughes, Canadian Artist, Marie Danielle Leblanc, Westport Artist, Dale Najarian and Hawaii Artist, Jason Wright.
We are showing the work of Betty Ball for the first time and will exhibit work from the Land and Sea series. The show also debuts the Waterman Palms series by Ferdinanda Florence, created in 2021, as a way to counter the uncertainty of 2020. To Florence, “Palms strike me both as delightful and ridiculous.” Summer Escape also features several new Beach Scenes inspired by Compo Beach by Dale Najarian.
