About the Artists:

Carol Bennett

Carol is one of the few artists I know who really captures what it's like to be in...and move through the water.  She is a native of Los Angeles, who has spent the last 20+ years living in Hawaii in Kaua'i.  Her work is a meditative journey through both the water and through life.

Bennett’s work has been featured in many solo and group exhibits throughout the US. She has been featured in Hamptons Cottages & Gardens and Ocean Home Magazine.   She is in public and private collections throughout the world.

Nina Bentley

According to Westport artist, Nina Bentley, "Many events have influenced me as an artist, growing up in Brooklyn, having a father who was an Italian anarchist, a mother who worked; being a cheerleader in the 1950's, a history major at college, a writer of advertising copy, a designer of department store window displays, a mother, a corporate wife; living fifteen years in Europe, becoming a grandmother - now many times over. All of these experiences have left their mark and occasioned reflection…The result of my introspection and insights are in my art. I hope this work speaks to some of its viewers."

Kimber Berry

Kimber is a Los Angeles artist. Her artwork is vibrant and dynamic mixed media combining acrylics, resins and digitally altered photographs of her paint-strokes.  Her Plastic Gardens series mourns the loss of nature, as man continues to build and overtake it.

She has received a lot of positive attention from art critics and curators on the West Coast and has been featured in solo and group shows in New York, London, LA and Atlanta.  She has been part of recent exhibits at the Riverside Museum and the Huntington Beach Art Center and recently featured in the magazines Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Ocean Home, Flaunt.

Stephanie Cate

Stephanie Cate is an abstract painter based out of Los Angeles, California.  She spent most of her childhood in France, before relocating to Los Angeles, California at fourteen.  She attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, receiving a BFA in painting. Her Europa series is inspired by the moon Europa, a planet of fire and ice and a potential for life.

Stephanie's work is in public and private collections including Kelly Wearstler, Renee Zellweger, Annabeth Gish, Avi Amiel (President, Art Collector Int’l Magazine), Rasa Center for Yoga (Oregon) and Wynn Tower Suites (Las Vegas)

Marie Danielle Leblanc

Canadian artist, Marie Danielle Leblanc, was born in Trois-Rivières (Quebec) and has lived and worked in Montreal (Quebec) since 1990.  Her paintings transform landscapes into poetic worlds. Her deeply saturated palettes bring new life to the sea, land and sky.   She has participated in twenty solo exhibitions, and more than fifty group exhibitions. Her work has also been shown and collected throughout Canada, and in New York, Paris, Sydney, Mexico and Tokyo.

Cynthia MacCollum

According to Connecticut painter and printmaker, Cynthia MacCollum, "I find inspiration in fragments of nature held close for reflection.  I employ a personal vocabulary of fluid marks and organic imagery to express the sensual pleasure and ephemeral quality of the natural world. Within this realm, my work varies from representational to abstract, and I am continuously moving along the continuum between the two."

Her work has been exhibited throughout the world since 2010.  She received her BA from Washington University in St. Louis and continued her art education at Fashion Institute of Technology (NY), Santa Reparata International School of Art (Florence, Italy) and Center for Contemporary Printmaking (Norwalk, CT).  Her studio is located in New Canaan, CT.

Nancy McTague-Stock

Photographer, Painter and Printer Nancy McTague-Stock creative vision examines the man-made order and natural chaos found in the landscape, using layers of observed patterns and nuances of value shifts juxtaposed in carefully considered compositions.

She received her BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, Virginia) and M.F.A. in Visual Arts, The Art Institute of Boston (Boston, Massachusetts).  Ms. McTague-Stock’s artwork has been exhibited internationally.  She is included in collections across the United States, as well as private collections in Italy, Switzerland and England.  She currently works out of her studio in South Norwalk, CT.

Allyson Monson

Photographer Allyson Monson is one of our new gallery artists. Her creative vision transforms color and ordinary objects into painterly images.   Allyson studied at the University of Rhode Island and the Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy. She currently lives in Fairfield County, CT with her husband and two children.

Dale Najarian

Dale Najarian received her BFA from Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia. She began painting in 1998.  Her latest Shadow Series merges the realistic quality of a photograph with the abstract translation of a landscape to depict a dreamlike painting that draws you in. Dale is fascinated by the perspective that shadows create in our daily lives, and uses people’s movements to capture the ever changing relationship between dark and light.  Her work has been shown and collected throughout Connecticut.  She currently works in her studio in Westport, CT.

Rose Umerlik

Vermont artist Rose Umerlik extracts the intangible emotional moments that live in our collective human psyche and interprets them abstractly through form, line and color so that they may also exist outside of ourselves.

In recent years, Umerlik has shown in seven solo exhibitions and innumerable group shows domestically and internationally, published a book of work titled Intimacy of Forms, received notable reviews in such publications as Art New England, and been awarded the Clowes Award by the Vermont Studio Center.  She was also just named a 2018 VT Artist to Watch!    She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University.  She has been exhibiting her work since 2005.
